Everyone who lives in a place where the air gets really dry knows how irritating dry air can be for their skin and respiratory system. You get itchy throats, nosebleeds, cracks in your nose, dry flaky skin and the list goes on. To add on your furnishing and home starts to crack, twist or wrap.

The ideal humidity level in your home should sit between 40% - 60%. Anything out of the range then you won't be comfortable in your home. Below 40% your air is just too dry and you can catch flu's more easily as the flu virus thrives under low humidity levels.

You have many humidifiers to choose from for small rooms that will give you a great performance. Here are two of my favorites from my in-depth research and I believe will work well for anyone looking for a small room humidifier:

1. Pure Enrichment MistAire Studio Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifier:  The Pure Enrichment MistAire humidifier is a great small humidifier for desk and tabletop use and for use on your bedside table while you sleep. Its also operates quietly with minimal disruptive sounds.

The device is also easy to clean and maintain and it comes with a 5 year warranty and awesome customer service.  Its a pet and baby friendly humidifier and you can keep it running in your room for 10 hours before needing to add any water. 2. Levoit Humidifier: I love the Levoit humidifier because it comes with a built in hygrometer which shows you your rooms humidity level. The Levoit also comes with a built in timer you can set to turn your device off while you are not there or while you sleep. It has sensors that allow it to adjust itself to maintain your chosen level of humidity as your natural room temperature and humidity changes.

To add on this device comes with a remote so you can adjust your settings while you are in bed or relaxing on the sofa and its on the other end of the room. Best Humidifier For Large Rooms

AIRCARE 831000 Space-Saver: As much as there are numerous large room air purifiers on the market, its quite a challenge to find a good device. A lot of them will live crystal dust on surfaces once the moisture they release dries up and they also need frequent cleaning.

This is where the AirCare 831000 stands out from the rest. It does not leave crystal dust in your air as it evaporates water naturally when increasing humidity in your home and you only need to clean it ever so often.

The AirCare can keep air in home areas of about 1500 sq ft at 40% humidity and the smaller your home the higher the humidity level it can achieve. My only problem with the AirCare humidifier is its build quality.

Its body is made of relatively cheap plastic and its probably why its price is low compared to other humidifiers within its range. However, overall its one of the few stress free humidifiers from a maintenance and operational perspective that you will find for large rooms. Best Smart Humidifier

When I am looking for a smart humidifier, I am looking for a device that can control my humidity on its own. An awesome unit I found for a small to medium room is the  HuPro Premium Ultrasonic Cool & Warm Mist Humidifier.  It can humidify air in rooms of up to 500 sq ft and will humidify your room for up to 30 hours.

This humidifier is one of my go to units for smart humidifiers because it has an Auto Mode which enables it to independently adjust itself to maintain a comfortable humidity level based on your rooms atmospheric conditions. You can view the HuPro in more detail here.

Similarly for large rooms, the AirCare 831000 which is also on my list of best large room humidifiers can also independently adjust itself to maintain your desired humidity level. Best Air Purifier And Humidifier Combo

Of the various humidifiers that come combined with an air purifier, the Boneco H300 - Hybrid Humidifier & Air Purifier, 3-in-1 Air Washer is so far among the most reliable I have seen and worth giving a go.

It has a filter based air purifier that will get rid of indoor air pollutants including pollen, dust, hair and larger airborne particulates.  Its air purifier filters will also get rid of nearly all airborne viruses in your home and deal with various bad odors, keeping you air clean, healthy and smelling fresh.

As for the humidifier, it will humidify rooms of up to  540 sq ft. The humidifier also shows you your humidity level in real time. It's a smart humidifier that automatically shuts off when its out of water and autonomously adjusts itself to maintain your humidity level as your rooms atmospheric conditions change.

The Boneco H300 as a whole is a smart device and you can control it from an app on your smart phone using Bluetooth.  What i really like about this unit is that its also quite aesthetically pleasing and its easy to fit it into almost any home and office setting.

The main downside i have seen with the Boneco H300 is that it can be a tad bit noisy when you initially turn on the air purifier feature. That said once it has cleared the air for about 2 hours it quietens to a bearable level.
